Web developers create and design websites, they are in charge of how the site looks, technical aspects like performance and capacity. They also measure the site’s speed and how much traffic the site can handle, and the content for the site.

Daily Duties A Web Developer Follows

  1. Meeting clients and discussing the needs or wants for the website and plan for how the website’s audience should look.
  2. Planning out the different stages to complete the sites with all the information it needs.
  3. Writing codes for websites, using programming languages like HTML & CSS or XML.
  4. Communicate with team members to determine what information will be on the site.
  5. Create and debug any applications for websites.
  6. Monitor all website traffic.
  7. Working with graphics and seeing how the website’s layout going to be.
  8. Adding graphics, videos, and audio into the websites.

When creating a website for a client, as a developer you want to make a mock up of what the page is going to look like. Many sites require different applications to work, for example if your building a gaming site,  it should be able to handle advanced graphics. Which as for a ecommerce site it needs a payment processing application.

Most developers handle all aspects of a websites construction where as others handle the specialize aspects. Their are three different type of web developers:

Web ProgrammersThey are responsible for the technical construction of the site and they create the framework, this is also to make sure the site works expected.

Webmasters: They maintain and keep websites up to date, and make sure they are running correctly and test for any errors, like broken links.

Web DesignersThey are responsible for how the websites will look. They create the content and add integrate graphics, applications and sound.
