This Season’s Color Trends

Now that summer is almost here, it’s time to freshen up your website with this season’s popular color schemes. To keep with current fashion, Windy City Web Designs suggests trying the four following color trends to your website.

1. Bright Accents Against Grayscale

A black and white color scheme gives a professional and clean appearance, but it runs the risk of being deemed boring. Accenting bright colors helps break up the monotonous grays and makes key features pop. This strategy draws attention to your titles and important information on your website. Be careful though. Don’t pick an eclectic color scheme or colors that are hard to read – they can be gaudy and distracting.

2. Neons

If your business has a more youthful feel, bright colors throughout your website can support your brand well. This season has revived the fun 70’s and 80’s vibe that has made a comeback in home decor, fashion, and web design. Our designers can help you find a balanced color scheme that fits your business’s identity.

3. Muted

Contrary to the flamboyancy of bright colors, muted colors give a warm and friendly feel that welcomes more mature crowds. Of course these color schemes still avoid the stigma of being boring, but they’re less overwhelming and loud. Muted colors also give you the chance to use a plethora of colors. Try soft pinks and oranges to brighten pages, or muted blues and greens as lively backgrounds. These can coordinate with your logo or physical product.

4. Color Blocking

Organize your website and assign importance by defining specific sections of your website. If your business has a clean cut image, color blocking can give it a minimalist and flat look. Color blocking is versatile and can be used on your home page to direct users to your website’s important features. This design facilitates your website’s navigation in a way that guides visitors effortlessly.
