More To Know On the DO’s and DON’Ts of Web Design

It has been established over and over again that everyone who has a website for their business is after one thing – more sales!  With this in mind, there are many DO’s and DON’Ts of web design.  As a branch off a previous Windy City Strategies blog post, these DO’s and DON’Ts allow you to gain more knowledge on the science of web design and what to look for in quality websites.  At Windy City Web Designs we know exactly how to increase the quality of your website!  You could say we know all of the DO’s and DON’Ts of effective web design.

DO:  Focus on what matters

If your business sells one specific product your best bet would be to focus on your home page.  That is the first page all of your potential customers will build a first impression off of.  You may still space on the inner pages of your website to place calls or action for that specific item.  Make sure to give your blog enough attention too.  Besides the over all layout of the page, the content within the page is crucial.  Your website should have content writing that counts while reminding the customer (and the search engines) what your website does and why it is at the top.

DON’T:  Place irrelevant ads across your page

If you plan on making money from your website or blog by allowing advertisements on your pages, you are making a huge mistake.  Do yourself a favor and lay off the excessive advertisements.   Potential customers are more than likely to leave pages with overwhelming amounts of adds.  Not only will they leave, they will never come back.  Making money off of ads on your site should not be your first priority, reaching out to your customers should be.
