Increased Visits, Increased Conversions

By now, it should be apparent that having a website is essential to being competitive in today’s online market. A company with a useful website and great online presence is bound to gain search engine attention and attract visitors. Increased web traffic, however, doesn’t mean inevitable revenue increases. Windy City Web Designs have gathered some tips on how to make increased visits correlate to increased conversions and sales.

1. Don’t be so aggressive on your website. Your visitors didn’t just happen to stumble upon your website. They’re there for a reason. Either a friend recommended your business. They were enticed to visit by an ad. Anyway they’re there. You don’t have to push your product; visitors should feel calm on your site. If visitors feel forced to buy, they most likely won’t want to.

2. Consider adding an e-commerce element to your website. If there’s a way for visitors to buy directly from your site, then it’s more likely that they’ll buy right away. If they have to take time to find where to buy your business’s products, it’s going to take longer to secure your sales and cause the customer frustration.

3. If your business is a service, adding a shopping cart seems impossible. It’s not like a product that can be sent anywhere. Instead make sure that your website is information rich. Include your mission statement, portfolio, and other original content from your business. Provide ways for visitors to contact you easily. Add your phone number, a live chat, or a contact page.

4. Connect your social media to your audience. Sometimes purchases take time to ponder. Linking visitors to your Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest give them the opportunity to share their finds. This will also get your business’s name out to their followers. Now your consumers have turned into promoters, giving you organic exposure.
