How To Design A Website For A Targeted Audience

Before designing a website for a specific audience there are a few things to figure out.  Ask yourself these questions: Who is your audience? What product or service are you trying to sell them? Would words or pictures appeal to them more? It may be hard to decipher who your target audience is and when that happens you have to find a goal or interest that they all have in common. It is important to be able to communicate with the audience and make sure that the message you are sending to them is being conveyed the way you want it to be.

Once you have figured out who it is you are trying to target, the next step is to design the website. The layout, color scheme, and design of the web page will determine whether or not your viewers will come back. Some people who visit your website may be new to your product or service and others will be very familiar with it. Your goal is to write content that both parties will be able to read and understand. Writing content that is over someone’s head will discourage them from ever coming back and potentially cost you a sale or client so effective communication to your viewers is important.

When you target a specific audience, they are affiliated by some common goals, interests, or knowledge base related to your product or service so a positive representation of your company is a key element. Create a logo that viewers will remember with colors that trigger their emotions. A client will continue to visit your website if it is easy to navigate. Give them a reason why they should choose you over your competition or why they should continue visiting your website.
