Google Can Now Use Your Face in Ads

Google just announced that they are able to access users’ information such as their profile names and photos and use them in ads. They think that it can really help if others see recommendations from people that they know. “So your friends, family and others may see your profile name and photo and content like the reviews you share or the ads you liked, commented on or followed.”

This new policy still allows you to be in charge of what you share. None of the terms of service policies have changed and you can still be in control of who sees what or who you want to share things with in the future. Google also says that it can save you and your friends time by seeing these likes and it can improve your search results on any Google services including Google search, Google maps, Google play and in advertising.

There is a place where you can go to adjust your settings if you don’t want your name or photo showing up in any ads and it is enabled by default. This setting is only applied in ads and it has no effect on where your name and image may appear on other Google products.
