Amazon Creates Mobile Shopping App

Amazon launched a new tool called the Mobile Associates API.  The host of the Kindle Fire announced that this new tool will allow developers to integrate Amazon’s retail store into their mobile apps.  This new tool is available as a mobile app on any Android and Kindle device.

The API app allows for more of a connection with the products that the customers value and purchase through Amazon. Businesses can put their products on here and it offers the customer a more personal experience. It allows developers to sell not only physical products but digital as well. So if someone purchases a board game they would get a free digital board game as well as the original one that was purchased.

Users are able to purchase items from different companies and earn in-app points for doing this. It also benefits the developer as well by creating a sales commission from Amazon.

“Amazon is the only mobile platform holder that could do this, and I’m surprised that it has taken the company this long to integrate its retail operation into its mobile operation.”  Since the Mobile Associates API is the only one of its kind,  in time, there will be talk about other companies such as ebay and others attempting to do the replicate the same thing.
